EDSR win RoSPA Gold Award
The EDSR Group of Companies have been awarded a Gold Award for Occupational Safety by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) at its prestigious 2008 awards gala event.
In only its second year of trading, this represents an excellent achievement by the group, and reflects the commitment to health and safety by senior management, and the teamwork shown at all levels of the organisation to maintain safe working practices on site.
Tom Brankley, Managing Director, commented: ‘This award shows that health and safety is our key priority, and that it takes proactive management rather than just hoping for low accident figures. Every project is different and we rely on site managers to deliver the safety objectives we set them.’
Receiving the award from Dr Elizabeth Gibby, RoSPA Board Member, Jon Dawson, EDSR’s Health, Safety and Systems Manager, said:
‘I am really receiving this on behalf of the whole team at EDSR. I can lend support and advice but at the end of the day it is the guys on site who come up with solutions and look after each other. We applied for the award with only a short history but were thrilled to win a Gold at first attempt.’
Site Managers were invited to the gala award dinner on 14th May at the Metropole Hotel at Birmingham’s NEC.
RoSPA summed up EDSR’s achievement in their press release:
‘RoSPA Gold Award winners have achieved a very high level of performance, demonstrating well developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.’
